Dushi Guides started as a Wix brochure. The business needed tour discovery, real availability, and a booking path staff can operate. Live at dushiguides.com.

EN/NL catalog, category browsing, tour detail with deposit pricing and Book now, guest reservation → staff confirm → WhatsApp / email. Operators are partners in the database, not a login portal.

Architecture

Split surfaces: Astro for the public marketplace, Next.js for ops/CMS and the booking API, shared Zod schemas, Supabase Postgres with RLS.

What matters in the build

  • Idempotent booking API

    Capacity and deposit checks server-side; pending reservation, then staff confirm.

  • Postgres as catalog + ledger

    Tours, translations, media, reservations, invoices. Money in integer cents.

  • External inventory sync

    BlueFinn pull with fail-closed calendars when sync is stale.

  • Staff RBAC, guest checkout

    Travelers stay unauthenticated; ops roles gate the admin.

Side quest

Real client product on the island. Useful systems work, not the Suggestied studio line.
