I'm stepping away from freelance work

I started building software on my own in 2018. Since 2020, I have done that professionally for clients and my own products.

Working independently taught me how to move fast, take responsibility, and make decisions without cover. You either solve the problem or you don't. There is no buffer.

That phase mattered. But it is no longer the right focus.

Why I'm stopping

Freelance work optimizes for finishing tasks. Not for building systems that last.

Most projects are limited by design. Short timelines. Temporary ownership. Clear boundaries.

You help, you deliver, and you leave. That is useful early on. Less useful if you care about depth, continuity, and long term decisions.

At this point, I want to work on software that compounds over time. That requires a different environment.

What I'm choosing instead

I am shifting my focus toward part time roles in structured teams. Teams that work on larger systems with longer lifecycles.

Not because it is easier. But because responsibility changes when the system does not reset after a contract ends.

I want to be closer to decisions that stay.

What this means

I am no longer accepting new freelance projects. Existing commitments are wrapped up properly.

I am still building. Just not through short term contracts.
